MoH urges Haj pilgrims to take necessary vaccines

Muscat: The Ministry of Health(MOH) on Tuesday urged citizens and residents who have been accepted to perform the Haj program for this year to take required vaccines from health institutions starting from today, Tuesday.


"The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to announce to the citizens and residents who have been accepted to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year about providing the vaccines in the health institutions from today, 07/06/2022 till 03/07/2022," a statement from the ministry said.


According to the requirements of the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the necessary vaccinations are:-


1. Covid-19 vaccine.


(getting two doses of the vaccines adopted in the Sultanate).


2. The Quadric-vaccination against Meningococcal Meningitis


(ACYW135).


3. Seasonal flu vaccine.


MOH urged all citizens and residents who want to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year to adhere to taking the vaccinations before traveling for not less than ten days.


The above requirements are considered a prerequisite to entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the spread of infection and safeguard public health.
