Oman Hydrogen Centre inks green energy pact

MUSCAT: Al Shawamikh Oil Services — a local community oil and gas contracting company — has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oman Hydrogen Centre—an affiliate of German University of Technology (GUtech)—to recruit global experts specialised in the field of green energy and to optimise benefits from this sector.


As per the MoU, the two sides will exchange expertise and studies to contribute to the Sultanate of Oman’s aspirations for alternative energy transformation, as part of Oman Vision 2040.


The MoU was signed by Dr Aflah Said al Hadhrami, CEO of Al Shawamikh, and Dra Sawsan Said al Riyami, Director of Oman Hydrogen Centre.


Oman Hydrogen Centre constitutes a step forward in Oman’s approach for global economic transition into green energy. Oman is striving to expand green economy and renewable energy projects, and has thus engaged into a variety of related investments. — ONA
