Regular communication is alive with the secretariat of the International Federation of Journalists in Brussels to follow up on developments regarding the needs and requirements of these meetings, which is to host elections for a new leadership for the next four years.

The Sultanate of Oman is expected to gain a great upper hand from this congress as, besides the tourism potential, the site visits arranged for the journalists and media professionals, as well as students of journalism and media in universities and colleges, are expected to benefit from the experiences from the conference.

The OJA Executive Committee hopes that the Muscat conference would be a new major landmark in the regional history of journalism. Also, the Omani Journalists Association will be able to assume its appropriate position in the international arena and the Asian Federation of Journalists, in addition to its presence in the General Secretariat and the leadership of the Union of Arab Journalists.

The Congress will also witness the election of a new leadership for IFJ, in addition that Muscat hosts during this event, the founding meeting of the Asian Journalists Association to elect its first new management board. The two outstanding events constitute a distinction in the international and Asian process work, 100 years after the establishment of IFJ.
