Snoonu, a leading technology company in Qatar, has announced the acquisition of Omani delivery platform Akeed for $10 million.
The announcement came at a Snoonu Gala held in Doha on Saturday. Akeed’s acquisition by Snoonu is the first by the latter outside of Qatar, and signals the start of its geographical expansion starting with the Sultanate of Oman. Besides strengthening its position regionally, the acquisition will also support Snoonu’s market diversification objectives.
Present at the gala were members of the management of both companies. Hamad Mubarak al Hajri, CEO and co-founder of Snoonu, said the acquisition was a decision they took based on Akeed’s excellent reputation as one of the leading food delivery platforms in the Sultanate of Oman.
Akeed CEO Gaurav Anil Nahar said the company is pleased to conclude this agreement with Snoonu. “We look forward to a future vision that brings us in the Sultanate of Oman the latest in e-commerce and the logistics sector,” he commented.
Snoonu, a homegrown tech platform, is Qatar’s leading is Qatar’s leading local delivery app, that enables users to order anything, including food, grocery, electronics, clothes, and other merchandise.
Established in 2019, Snoonu has expanded to become an online e-commerce platform as well which utilizes a mobile application that has local stores, restaurants, groceries, shops, and their online ordering menu listed, from which we provide delivery using a fleet of personnel, enabling people to order food, laundry, gifts, flowers, health and beauty products and more at their convenient places.
