

Al BURAIMI: University of Buraimi celebrated the graduation of the sixth and seventh batch on Thursday at Al Salam Grand Resort in Al Buraimi.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Shaikh Saba bin Hamdan bin Saba al Saadi, Secretary-General of the National Celebrations, in the presence of members of the State Council and Majlis Ash'shura, walis, and officials of the public and private sectors.
The university’s fourth graduation ceremony saw the 873 students graduate with bachelor's and diploma degrees. Of those, 382 are from the College of Business, 183 from the College of Engineering, 166 from the College of Health Sciences and 142 from the College of Law.
On this joyous occasion, Yusuf bin Abdul Rahim bin Karam al Farsi, Chairman of the University's Board of Directors, emphasised the need for empowering students with the necessary knowledge and skills, training them to assume responsibility and preparing them to lead the labour market with innovation and creativity in order to achieve Oman Vision 2040.
Dr Salim bin Redha Radawi, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, pointed out that the university is actively seeking to increase the Omanisation of its cadres in both administrative and academic departments. Hence, in the past two years, the university has hired 55 Omani employees, reaching an Omanisation ratio of 95 per cent in the administrative staff, and 64 per cent in the total human resources at the university.
Dr Abood bin Hamad al Sawafi, Vice-Chancellor of the University, called on graduates to be good ambassadors for their university. He also urged them to be thankful to Allah Almighty, and to their parents and teachers, and all those who have contributed to their graduation and success.
