Oman Air and Qatar Airways announced a partnership on Thursday to provide air connectivity to Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 football fans between Muscat and Doha.

Under this agreement, 21 flights will be operated between Muscat and Doha, to transport fans of the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Overall, there will be 48 daily between the two countries (24 round trips) during the matches between November and December 18.

The shuttle flights will provide a seamless and convenient 24-hour experience for all football fans between Muscat and Doha throughout the tournament.

“As the football world comes together in Qatar, Oman Air is ready to welcome everyone on board to enjoy the signature warmth and hospitality Omanis are renowned for,” Eng Abdulaziz al Raisi, Oman Air Chief Executive Officer, said.

Football fans based in Oman will soon be able to book their Match Day Shuttle flights.

This service is designed with the purpose of connecting fans seamlessly to Qatar so they can attend their respective matches, before departing Doha on the same day.

Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said that the signing of the agreement between Oman Air and Qatar Airways comes within the framework of the strong relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar to contribute to the success of this World Cup, which is being held for the first time in an Arab country, and an opportunity to promote its tourism potential.

The Sultanate of Oman and the authorities concerned with the World Cup began preparing early for this event, as the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism coordinated with a number of authorities, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Royal Oman Police, Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) and Oman Airports Company, which seeks to provide a distinctive tourism experience for the fans of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Al Raisi said that tickets and trips between the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar will be exchanged between the two companies, with the focus on the Sultanate of Oman as a tourist destination, with the provision of a set of tour packages to the World Cup audience wishing to visit the Sultanate of Oman at competitive prices.

Muscat is among the cities in the region that will host the audience and visitors of the World Cup in Qatar 2022 because of its multiple tourism components represented in ancient markets, and historical and archaeological monuments.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, Najeeb bin Yahya al Balushi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Qatar, Abdulaziz bin Saud al Raisi, CEO of Oman Air, and Haitham bin Mohammed al Ghassani, Director-General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
