Sayyidah Susan al Said, founder of Bait Muzna Gallery, officially opened the ArtEffect exhibition organised by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of ABA Oman International School on May 24.
She was genuinely impressed and stimulated by the wide range of creativity and encouraged young artists to explore their creative potential further. The #ABAPTAArtEffect featured a variety of fascinating artwork by professional artists as well as ABA staff and students.
The exhibition is open to the ABA community and Muscat audience till May 31 from 4 pm to 8 pm on weekdays, from 2 pm to 8 pm on Friday and from 9 am to 8 pm on Saturday. The next highlight will be an Artists’ Talk on Saturday from 12 pm to 2 pm.
The art extravaganza opened with colour and vibrance with paintings of different shades and hues, award-winning photography, mixed media creations, digital design, three-dimensional sculptures and thought-provoking installations by renowned and upcoming artists. ABA is a melting pot of cultures and the art displayed reflected incredible stories of multicultural infusion.
Artists featured in the exhibition include Debjani Bhardwaj, Sara Riaz Khan, Nicole Morgan, Rebeca Nigrinis, Rachel Eapen, Manuela Emmer, Julia Jean Davies, Ian White, Andrea Zarate Pard, Reem Alshaikh, Teodora Zrancheva and ABA students Dora Kali, Yasmeen Hashem, Amrita Giridhar, Kaitlyn Cotton and Anushka Singhal.
The exhibition was curated by Manuela Emmer, an artist, photographer and ABA parent. “We are immensely glad to showcase our annual PTA ArtEffect, an expressive art exhibition at ABA campus, allowing us to present our incredibly talented students, staff and parent artists’ diverse creativity as well as opening an avenue for collaboration and exchange of ideas amongst audience and artists”, she said.
Anthony Langrish, the Director of Fine Arts at ABA Oman International School stated, “The exhibition showcases an incredibly diverse cultural and social collection of artwork encompassing International Baccalaureate student art alongside professional artists' work, as well as those starting out on their artistic adventure. Our ABA students have limitless opportunities in the art space through enriching art programmes, and this collaborative exhibition with our parent community is truly a 'must see'.
ABA students also proudly displayed their Poetry Anthology title ‘Reflections’ at the exhibition, which features a range of haikus, free verses, sonnets, written and published by Grade 7 students.
