Muscat: The Sustainability Energy Research Centre (SERC) of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) on Tuesday opened the first hybrid plant for electricity production experimentation.
This came on the sidelines of a forum on the prospects of green hydrogen.
The forum was opened by HH Sayyid Dr Fahd Al Julanda al Said, Vice Chancellor of SQU.
The event was co-organized by the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) and SQU represented by SERC. It deals with the prospects of green energy in the Arab region and in Oman.
The forum targets enhancing constructive cooperation between various establishments in the renewable energy sector, increasing societal awareness on green hydrogen and discussing the prospects of green hydrogen in Oman, the region and the world. It also aims to explore mechanisms to benefit from regional and international experiences in this field.
