The Royal Oman Police launched an e-service for transferring vehicle-driving licenses through the ROP mobile app on smartphones. The launch of the new e-service marked the opening of Comex 2022, Sultanate of Oman's biggest Technology Exhibition, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Brigadier Mohammed bin Awad al Rawas, Director General of Traffic, explained that the service of transferring vehicle driving licenses is to facilitate the procedures to obtain this service round the clock. He stressed that the ROP would digitalise many other traffic services. He noted that services related to driving licenses became electronic from the stage of submission of application up to the issuance of the licence.

"Work is underway to digitise all services in the licensing and the vehicle registration departments," he said.

The ROP is participating in the Comex at a dedicated pavilion to showcase police facilities and services in the Sultanate of Oman. The pavilion reviews the latest electronic services provided by the Royal Oman Police, in addition to clarifying the mechanism for benefiting from them through interactive screens.
