Quran memorisation contest : 158 students of Al Dakhiliyah feted

NIZWA: The General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate felicitated 158 male and female students who excelled in memorising and reciting the Holy Quran and for good voice, at the governorate level.


The ceremony was presided over by Dr Mohammed bin Juma al Kharusi, Dean of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa (CAS Nizwa). Saif bin Mubarak al Julandani, Director-General of the General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah, at the Higher Judicial Institute in the Wilayat of Nizwa, was also present.



Khalfan bin Salim al Busaidy, supervisor of Islamic education in the Directorate, in his speech said, "The Holy Quran memorisation competition has received continuous care by those working in education in this governorate. The Director-General has supported the competition realising the great importance of refining students' talents and skills in speaking Arabic, the language of the Holy Quran."


This year, about 460 students from various schools in the governorate participated, he added.


The Directorate honoured along with 158 outstanding students, 22 male and female teachers who participated in the Quran memorisation competition for teachers, and 13 schools which qualified at the national level.
