Assigned by HM, HH Sayyid Belarab to inaugurate Sultan Qaboos Corner tomorrow

Muscat: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Belarab bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said will inaugurate the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s Corner at the National Museum’s Renaissance Age Hall.


Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Chairman of National Museum’s Board of Trustees, said that the opening of the Sultan Qaboos Corner constitutes a significant feature that will incarnate a turning point in Oman’s modern’s history. The edifice will portray the legacy the late Sultan and manifest his achievements over the first five decades of Renaissance, which laid solid foundations for a comprehensive development process, said Al Mahrouqi, noting that the country is now advancing with firms steps towards a brighter future under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.


In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Al Mahrouqi added that, after this induction, the ministry will organize makeshift exhibitions showcasing antiques of the late Sultan in the governorates of Oman, with a view to associating the Renaissance with different traits of the late Sultan.


The exhibits will include gifts made to Oman by leaders of Arab and non-Arab states, and these will in particular depict the country’s regional and international status during the late Sultan’s era.


Through the inauguration of the Sultan Qaboos Corner, the Renaissance Age Hall will celebrate Oman’s modern history and the epochs of progress and prosperity that the country has witnessed since 1970. The pavilion will exhibit the country’s evolution into a “State of Institutions”, which paved the way for radical changes that enriched aspects of public life.
