

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism on Thursday signed seven land development (usufruct) agreements to set up tourism projects on government land plots registered at the ministry.
The projects include the construction of a 4-star hotel in the Wilayat of Mirbat featuring 100 rooms and restaurants, the Governorate of Dhofar, five tourism camps boasting 149 rooms in the Wilayat of Bidiya, the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah, restaurants and recreational facilities, and a project in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar, Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, comprising a set of restaurants, a glass cat-walk, open courtyards and children’s playground.
The agreements highlight the ministry’s efforts to boost investments in the tourism sector and keep pace with economic developments aimed to diversify sources of income. The projects will provide employment opportunities for the local population. -- ONA
