: Muscat: Bee'ah issued a statement on social media reports about inadequacies in waste management services in some regions of the Sultanate, especially in the Governorate of Muscat.

The company said that the waste disposal service is carried out in cooperation with various municipalities, which are responsible for cleaning roads, parks, beaches, and other public places.

Bee’ah is responsible for waste management, which includes collecting and transporting household waste that is carried out through specialized contracted companies. The company also provides, through the contracting companies, the service of collecting tree waste and old furniture according to the procedures followed, through prior coordination.

The helpline number to call Bee’ah is 1881.

It has been noticed in recent times the quantities of non-domestic waste such as tree parts and old furniture have increased significantly, and some contractors dispose of construction and demolition waste next to containers. Since most of these practices are in clear violation of the laws of the municipalities regulating these operations, and since the company does not have judicial control, Bee’ah has sought to work with the competent authorities to effectively enhance its supervisory role and reduce the process of illegal disposal of waste."

Bee’ah has started to intensify follow-up and monitor the performance of operating companies around the clock, and the various teams are intensifying waste collection operations to include spaces around containers regardless of their type and quantities as part of the process of and preventing this type of waste from accumulating.

The company said it has additional resources to intensify fieldwork to deal with the observations that are received in real-time
