Muscat: The Ministry of Health has issued an update about the Tarassud Plus application, which emerged as an important tool to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The application was helpful in tracing the infected as well as making the vaccination process smooth.

Tarassud Plus is the Sultanate of Oman's official Covid-19 application for citizens, residents and travellers. The application's authority is limited within the country until the epidemic officially ends. This application provides citizens and residents with data related to infectious diseases. The App is developed and maintained by the Ministry of Health and provides features such as quarantine tracking, digital vaccination certificate, RT PCR results and Covid-19 related statistics.

According to the MoH, Tarassud Plus was helpful in appointments, vaccination and issuing certificates.

The MoH has employed artificial intelligence technology by launching a system of epidemiological investigation based on artificial intelligence technology through Tarassud Plus, supported by the medical detector programme and medical supervisor programme.

Individuals use this application as this system is distinguished by the feature of speaking with the virtual support team through the medical detector icon. It helps evaluate the health status through symptom analysis, facilitating continuous follow-up of people.

It is helpful in tracking and isolation of infected people or contacts and directing them to health institutions promptly.

The medical detector application is also available in five languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Bengali and Urdu, so that it can be used by different nationalities residing in the Sultanate of Oman. The system aims to limit the spread of the disease by raising the efficiency of geographical tracking of cases to which isolation has been applied and assessing the extent of their commitment and adherence to the isolation instructions, as well as tracking contacts, especially in light of the increasing number of cases and the expansion of their geographical area.

It also allows identifying the identity of the isolated automatically with face recognition technology. The system alerts a person if there is a smart bracelet near him and the GPS and Bluetooth service are activated.
