As part of its efforts aimed at empowering national cadres in various business fields, OQ Group – the global integrated energy group of the Sultanate of Oman - provided 264 internship opportunities for university and college students as well as job seekers in 2021.
This year, the Group seeks to offer 300 training and qualification opportunities through its various specialised programmes for university and college students as well as job seekers. This initiative was announced as part of OQ’s participation at the Careers and Training Fair held by Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) recently.
On this occasion, Ashraf al Mamari, Chief Executive of People, Technology and Culture at OQ said: “By participating in the Careers and Training Fair hosted by SQU, OQ aims to identify undergraduate students with the internship and qualification opportunities in various technical, business and administrative fields. It also strives to enable students to learn more about OQ and its training programmes in addition to offering them various career development opportunities and job interview skills.”
Al Mamari added: “OQ Group offers three tailor-made training programmes that aim at enhancing human capability development and qualifying interns in various fields. The first is a six-month training programme targeting university and college graduates as well as job seekers. The second one spans 2 – 4 months and targets students who are about to graduate at universities and colleges. The Group provides a third “qualification” programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to raise the level of university and college students, as well as job seekers by enabling them to experience a real work environment and apply what they have studied in real life settings. This programme continues for 9 months.”
