Pact inked to prepare jobseekers for labour market

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour signed here on Tuesday a programme of cooperation with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) to fund on-the-job training programme for available jobs in SMEs operating in various sectors.


The agreement was signed by Sayyid Salim Musallam al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Human Resources Development and Halima Rashid al Zarei, Chairperson of ASMED.


The two sides agreed to ramp up cooperation in training-related fields to create sustainable work environments. As per the agreement, 3,000 jobseekers will be trained in several fields.
