Imagine placing your order at your favourite restaurant only to be informed that your order will take 20-30 minutes to materialise because of the rush of customers? Now a young Omani entrepreneur has come up with an app that allows you to pre-order your choice of dishes so that, by the time you arrive at the eatery, your order is ready to be served.

‘Jehezlee’, which simply means “Make it ready for me”, has been launched by Sameh Sinani to much excitement among food-lovers in the Sultanate of Oman.

A young Omani entrepreneur has rolled out an app that helps you pre-order your choice of dishes at your favourite restaurant so they are ready for dining in or takeaway as soon as you reach the outlet “Jahezlee is an application helps you order food at your choice of diner or beverage at your local café. You can pay online and either collect the order as a takeaway when you reach the outlet or enjoy it as a dine-in customer. The most important thing is with Jahezlee, you don’t have to wait while the order is being prepared. It’s ready for takeaway or dine-in when you arrive at the outlet'', Sameh explained.

As for the genesis of this app, the young Omani says it all began by chance. “On one occasion I found myself waiting for a long time for the order to be ready. Spending 20 to 50 minutes for a relatively simple order from your favourite restaurant is a common enough problem. But with a bit of Information Technology, it is possible to get around this problem”. Delivery is not yet part of the app’s features, but is proposed to be added in the second quarter of this year when Jahezlee is ramped up.

Importantly, as a gesture to small family-owned businesses, Jahezlee plans to offer them free registration to use the app to promote their products and services. Hypermarkets will be added to the app to open up this concept to larger numbers of customers.

But Jahezlee is not without its share of challenges, says the app’s founder. “As with any other business, there are challenges. For us, it has to be updating the app’s features and functionality based on user and restaurant feedback. We have done a lot of modifications to help improve the app.” Going forward, Sameh is hopeful that investors will step in and drive the growth of this increasingly popular app.
