Spraying campaign against date palm weevil to begin on Tuesday

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources will initiate a spraying campaign to combat date palm weevil, on April 5.


The first phase of aerial spraying will be carried out in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate during April 5-9 on an estimated area of 4,610 acres. The campaign will be carried out in Muscat Governorate on April 12, South Al Batinah Governorate (April 13-14) and North Al Batinah Governorate (April 15).


The second phase of the campaign will begin in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate during April 5-9 covering on an area of 5,441 acres, followed by Al Dhahirah Governorate during April 10-11 and on an area of 2,015 acres and then Al Buraimi Governorate on April 12 covering an area of 8,064 acres and concludes in Musandam Governorate on April 13 on an area of 850 acres. — ONA
