Exhibition showcases resources for students with disabilities

The exhibition aimed to highlight the role and importance of educational materials in the educational process, and to shed light on the services provided by the Ministry of Education in the field of people with disabilities

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuing Learning, in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Private Schools and the Educational Departments of the governorates of Muscat, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah, and the International Schools Office, organised the first exhibition of educational material "For You We Create" for the people with disabilities.


The exhibition comes on the occasion of the celebration of the World Autism Day, which falls on April 2 each year. It was held under the auspices of Majid al Bahri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, in the presence of Dr Fathia al Saadi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuing Learning, and specialists in special education for people with disabilities from the Ministry's General Office and from the governorates.

The exhibition included fifteen corners of joint educational materials between public, private and international schools in the field of people with disabilities, representing models, panels, and educational and electronic bags for the categories of "learning difficulties, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, and autism spectrum disorder". The exhibition aimed to highlight the role and importance of educational materials in the educational process, and to shed light on the services provided by the Ministry of Education in the field of people with disabilities.
