Al Dakhiliyah honours 235 teachers and staff

The General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate honoured 235 teachers, technical and administrative cadres active in the educational field in the governorate’s schools, on the occasion of the Omani Teacher’s Day themed “My teachers, because of you we rise.”


The ceremony was held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Thuwaini al Said, in the presence of officials in Nizwa on Tuesday.


Saif bin Mubarak al Julandani, Director-General, in a speech said: “We are in this directorate, with feelings of gratitude on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the right moment to fete the virtues of the teachers and their efforts. We value their great role in managing the educational process with sincerity and dedication especially during Covid-19 pandemic. The result is evident in the students’ achievements, data generated by the educational statistical indicators, and the achievements of the governorate’s schools, which make us proud.”


The Director-General concluded his speech by saying: “This celebration is a message through which we affirm the commitment of this directorate to the governorate’s schools. This embodies the vision pursued by the Ministry of Education and its keenness to enhance the teacher’s professional skills and development of education in line with Oman Vision 2040.”


Rahma bint Ali al Badawiyah, from Zainab bint Qais School for Basic Education, spoke on behalf of teachers. “Congratulations to you on this day, my colleagues. Education is not just a profession that we practice, it is noble mission. A teacher shapes generations of children and grooms them into dutiful citizens.”


The ceremony included the welcome show (my teacher is my role model and inspiration) presented by Hay Al Saad School for Basic Education. A poem by Saud bin Suleiman al Hinai, a teacher from Ibn Baraka Al Sulaimi School for Basic Education, was recited by Balqis bint Muslim al Harrasiyah, a student from Taimsa School for Basic Education. This was followed by the video presentation “My teachers, because of you we rise” and a group dance by students of Seih Al Rasiyat School for Basic Education.
