Dr Shihab to participate at Euro Asia volleyball-coaching programme

Muscat: Oman’s FIVB international instructor, Dr Shihab al Riyami, will take part at the Euro Asia volleyball-coaching programme which will take place in Thailand during March 22 to 28 in Bangkok, Thailand.


Oman’s experienced volleyball coach said that he is very thankful to Europe volleyball confederation and Asian volleyball confederation to launch one of the strongest programme between two modern volleyball schools in the volleyball world. “It is my privilege to attend in this top course and share my international experience and knowledge with my colleges (Experts Team and coaches),” he added.


Oman’s volleyball expert team member commented on the curriculums and subjects which will present during the sessions. “I am sure that all the educational aspects will be highly productive and useful in modern volleyball and sports science such as physical conditioning, coaches development, talent selection methods, periodisation, coaching pedagogy and philosophy, yoga treatments, injury prevention and modern physical training in volleyball.

In addition, clinic will include practical sessions, which insists on coaching skills , drill management and advanced drills in volleyball technical and tactical aspects,” he ended.


Oman’s member at AVC coaches committee is very keen to take part in all the top coaching seminars and workshops. The last attendance of the Omani coach was in last October at FIVB coaches course level II which was held remotely beside some attendees presented physically in Bahrain.


The Euro-Asia volleyball-coaching programme signed in 2021 is part of the cooperation programme between Europe Volleyball Confederation and Asian Volleyball Confederation.


The purpose of the programme is a primary coaching programme in the world for developing volleyball level and athletes performance.


Moreover, it assists Asian volleyball coaches in 69 National federations to improve their coaches’ skills and upgrading their knowledge in coaching field.


It is a positive step for enhancing volleyball in Asian zones.
