The book "Oman - Splendors of the Sultanate' launched today

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism launched the book Oman - Splendors of the Sultanate - Scent of the Past, Vision of the Future in the presence of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat.


The book is authored by Hani Jan Samaha


The book is characterized by the accuracy of its contents, the richness of its information, the attention given to the minute details, and high-quality photography capturing various locations."


Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, said about this publication: “Oman - Splendors of the Sultanate...' book represents the authenticity of the heritage, the luxury and diversity of the tourism product offered by the Sultanate of Oman and invites visitors to explore the beauty of the land."


He said the book will contribute to supporting the promotional efforts undertaken by the ministry, whether at the local level or at the global level, within the framework of implementing the comprehensive tourism development plan adopted by the ministry. The ministry will work to ensure the distribution of the book through its tourism representation offices in 16 countries targeted by tourism, as well as through the embassies of the Sultanate of Oman.


Hani Jan Samaha, said, "We have tried with all determination to convey a part of the greatness of the Sultanate of Oman with solid and comprehensive details of the nation’s march, its tourism, cultural and economic achievements."

Work on the first stages of the book began on September 18, 2017, and ended on August 22, 2018, beginning in the Governorate of Dhofar, passing through all the governorates of the Sultanate, and finally concluding in the Governorate of Muscat. About 5,600 photos were photographed, and about 1,000 photos were selected by the photographer, Professor Albert Sicale (a lecturer at the American University of Beirut), while the British editor (Philippa) carried out the process of editing the book in English.


The book includes 312 pages of large size pieces (width 25.5 cm/length 31.5 cm) made of luxurious 170g of European silk paper with a hardcover and box for each copy.


The writer Hani Jan Samaha, who was born in Beirut in 1980 and holds a BA in Business Sector from DePaul University in the US state of Chicago, and is considered the youngest and most famous collector of antiques in the world.
