Kazakh citizens can visit Oman without visa for 14 days

Citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to visit Oman without obtaining a tourist visa, starting from April 1.


"The Government of Sultanate of Oman introduced a 14-day visa-free regime for Kazakh citizens. The decision will develop tourism relations between the two countries," the Kazakhstan Embassy in Muscat said on Friday.


In the pre-Covid days, SalamAir had announced plans to open Almaty-Muscat Nur-Sultan-Muscat direct flights, after Kazakh and Omani aviation authorities inked a memorandum of understanding in October 2019.


In line with national efforts to promote and ease services for tourists visiting Oman, nationals of 103 countries are exempted from entry visas for stays of up to 14 days.


The exemption will be subject to certain requirements including a prior and confirmed hotel booking, health insurance and a return ticket.


The countries and regions whose nationals are exempted from entry visas to the Sultanate of Oman for a period of ten days, subject to certain requirements, are:


Citizens from 26 out of 103 countries can avail of this facility only if they have a Schengen visa in their passport, or have entry visas to the USA, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or Japan.


The 26 countries included in the list are India, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Costa Rica, Kyrgyzstan, Nicaragua, Armenia, Panama, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkmenistan, Honduras, Guatemala, Laos, Albania, Bhutan, Peru, Salvador, Mexico, Vietnam, Cuba and the Maldives.
