

SALALAH: Delegated by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Hamad bin Thuwaini al Said, presided over the Annual Horse Race of the Royal Cavalry (RC), on Saturday.
In the first round dedicated to female jockeys riding pure-bred Arabian horses, the mare Thaneya of the Royal Cavalry won the 1,200-metre race.
The horse Al Tariq of the Royal Cavalry won the first place in the second round designated for pure Arabian horses for 1200-metre distance.
The horse Shars owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Shihab al Balushi won the first place in the third round dedicated to pure-bred Arabian citizens’ horses for 1600-metre distance.
The horse Safwa of the Royal Cavalry won the first place in the fourth round dedicated to pure-bred Arabian horses for 1600-metre distance.
Horse Soko of the Royal Cavalry won His Majesty’s Cup title in the fifth round designated to pure-bred Arabian horses for 2,000-metre distance.
The race rounds were interspersed with equestrian shows, traditional Omani horse games and music performance. — ONA
