A total of 165 men and women graduated in three main programmes: mass communication (55); business administration (70); and design (40).

During the ceremony, Dr Al Kharousi, Dean of the College, gave a speech in which he said: "It is a source of joy for us to gather today to celebrate the graduation of the 2021 batch. We feel proud that an academic and supportive administration body that possesses scientific and practical qualifications enabled it to develop the graduates' specialised knowledge and scientific capabilities. They gave them proper planning and simple implementation of many student activities, events and training programmes inside and outside Oman to hone practical and technical skills.

Dr Al Kharousi urged the graduates to develop their abilities and skills to preserve their Omani identity with authentic Islamic values and tolerant principles. Moreover, all should strive to contribute to serving our homeland Oman, each in his/her field and according to ability. He concluded his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to developing the talents and skills of graduates.

Saba bint Nasser al Kharousiyah spoke on behalf of graduates. "Year after Year, we were looking forward to this day when we will reap the fruits. The mother will rejoice at those who persevere and be patient and the father will be proud of those who have won and triumphed. It is the university's joy when students bid farewell to prepare to face life with its challenges and joy. Let us all contribute to the march of this great country, under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik."

The Dean honoured the top graduates and then handed over certificates to graduates in mass communication, design and business administration programmes.

The ceremony concluded with chanting "The Sun's Owner" performed by Mohammed al Matroushi and Khalid al Siyabi.

The graduates expressed their joy on this occasion. Rayan al Shibli, from the journalism major, said: "it was a long journey between stumbling and getting up, but in the end, I did it. Very proud of myself and my friends."
