MUSCAT: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will present the Nutcracker show to be performed by the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre on March 17 and 18, 2022. The Nutcracker is a ballet for families and children, revealing a fairy-tale world, which has enriched cultural experiences for all age groups, over many generations. Celebrating all the classical features of the original ballet, this production is performed by the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre with choreography from Nina Ananiashvili and Alexey Fedeechev.

The wonderful story of the Nutcracker doll rallying forces and defeating the Mouse King and his army is unchanged, with the famous dances of the Sugar Plum Fairy playing a key role in the enchanting narrative. In this production, the setting is a house in Georgia and a park where the children spend days playing around a huge ancient tree, which becomes the Land of Sweets. The staging is inspired by children’s folklore of Georgia, with delicious confectionary inspired backdrops and vibrant costumes.

The production features live music with the Tbilisi State Orchestra conducted by Alevtina Ioffe.
