

Muscat: Shamaa Mohammed, a leading Omani actress, who is popular in the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf region, passed away at age of 64 following a heart attack in Saudi Arabia.
She was working on a project in the kingdom, according to reports.
Shamaa was born in Kuwait on February 19, 1958, and completed her studies both in Kuwait and Bahrain.
Her career in arts started in 1975 but became popular with her television and theatrical works that started around 2002.
Her career in arts coincided with the start of the Blessed Renaissance in Oman in the seventies.
She was also involved in the comedy series Listen and See, a script and dialogue by Youssef Al-Hajj, directed by Aref Al-Taweel, and co-starring with a group of stars of the Sultanate and other countries.
