Khimji Ramdas felicitates gold medalist Paralympian staff

MUSCAT: Paralympian champion Talib al Balushi, an employee at Khimji Ramdas (KR) was recently felicitated by the Group’s Directors at a formal ceremony held at their head office, to celebrate his star performance at the recently concluded 2022 West Asian Para Games in Bahrain.


Winner of two gold medals (shot-put and discus throw) and a silver medal (javelin throw), Talib’s outstanding participation in the Para Games, which saw Oman Para Athletic Team winning a total of 20 medals - including 12 gold - is a reflection of his strong resolve to keep Oman’s sporting pennants flying high.


Congratulating him on his decisive victory, Nailesh Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas stated: “Talib al Balushi has upheld the Paralympian motto of ‘Spirit in Motion’; and inspires each one of us to go beyond the expected and savour success that comes from grit and resilience. His success story motivates us to continue to play a crucial role in guiding our employees to achieve their full potentials, thereby doing our bit towards securing a stronger workforce for the nation.”


Commenting on the Group’s ongoing social responsibility endeavours, he added: “As an organisation that is steadfastly committed to facilitating its people, particularly its youth realise their true capabilities, we have, and continue to initiate and support ventures that foster inclusion and all-round national development. The Oman team and Talib’s victory is testimony to the efforts put in identifying, nurturing, promoting, and celebrating talent at every level in the country. We believe that this is just the beginning of a glorious future for Oman sports, and will continue to strive to put the Sultanate of Oman on the world sporting map.”


Paralympic celebrity Talib al Balushi has been a part of the Khimji Ramdas Group for over a decade. He has played a significant role in Oman’s Para Athletic Team, winning laurels at various local and regional sporting events. Expressing gratitude to the Group Directors and the staff who assembled to felicitate him, he said, “I attribute my success to the trust reposed on me by the KR Group and the people of Oman. It is their confidence that has helped me surge ahead and bring home laurels.”


With the aim to see the Sultanate of Oman enjoy a prime place in the global sporting arena, as well as inspire the nation’s youth and next generation of athletes, the Khimji Ramdas Group continuously celebrates and supports national sporting talent.
