Muscat, Mar 14

Three-time winners Seeb will take on Al Rustaq, who are chasing their maiden title, in the His Majesty’s Cup football final on Thursday night. The Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex will be the venue for the tight clash to be kicked off at 7 pm.

Both teams are undergoing intensive warming-up sessions for the title showdown.

After an absence of 17 years, Seeb will target their fourth title in this edition. The battalion of coach Boris Bunjak is upbeat despite their defeat in the last round of Omantel League against Al Nahdاa.

The coaching staff of Seeb preferred to provide rest for the top players in the match to avoid any injuries. The training sessions will continue during evening time at the headquarters of the club in Al Khoudh under supervision of coach Bunjak.

On the other hand, Al Rustaq’s players began their warm-up sessions at the training yard in Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex under watchful eyes of Romanian coach Catalin Mihai.

Mihai also decided to provide rest for the key players in the last game of Omantel League against Al Nasr which ended in a goalless draw. More than three comprehensive training sessions will be awaiting Al Rustaq’s players ahead of the final clash. Al Rustaq players are keen not to miss the historic chance to lift the first title of the top domestic competition.

A good turnout from the supporters of both the clubs is expected for the final.

The Oman Football Association (OFA) has announced the umpiring team who will officiate the concluding encounter. International referee Ahmed al Kaaf will be the main referee of the match while AbuBaker al Amri and Hamed al Ghafri will assist him. Mohammed al Othmani is assigned as fourth referee while Naif al Balushi as first additional referee and Yahya al Balushi as second additional referee.
