GCC Golf Championship kicks off

Muscat: The GCC Golf Championship is back after the pandemic with good participation.


The opening ceremony saw the participating teams and GCC Golf Championship officials. The 24th edition of the championship has the Men’s division of 72 hole tournament with 18 holes being played each day on the prestigious Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The 13th edition of Boys' under-18 division is a 54 hole event and is lined up for Monday through Wednesday.


The UAE General Authority of Sports is hosting the event along with the Emirates Golf Federation at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and the closing ceremony is to be held on Thursday at 5 pm.


The Sultanate of Oman is participating with Ghaleb al Busaidy as head of the delegation, Peter Bailey as coach of the national teams comprising Azzan al Ramahi, Badr al Ameri, Muhammad Ambusaidi and Fahd al Kettani. The Youth national team under 18 years have Mohammed al Noamani, Al Mundhir al Hinai and Ayman al Busaidy.
