MUSCAT: HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham al Said will preside over the award ceremony of the Bilarab Bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design to be held at the Royal Opera House Muscat on Tuesday.

The ceremony will witness the announcement of the three top winners who will be honoured with the award shields which will be presented in digital copies using NFT technology for the first time in the Arab region.

The deadline for the submission of the final project designs of ten shortlisted entries expired today.

The judging panel stipulated the submission of high-resolution designs featuring the technical and artistic details and architectural components of the projects while taking into account the observations made during the final review phase when the participants presented their displays before the judging panel on February 27-28 at Sultan Qaboos University in the presence of HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham al Said.

The organisers of the Bilarab Bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design received a total of 356 projects that met the award’s conditions in the opening stage. The designs revolved around the development of Al Mina quarter in the Wilayat of Muttrah through projects featuring 50 years of the Sultanate of Oman’s Renaissance and the promising launch of Oman Vision 2040. Of these, 10 projects designed by 19 young Omanis (including 5 individual participations and 5 group projects), were shortlisted to the final stage of the award. -- ONA
