MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), hosted the 32nd meeting of the Committee on Deans of Student Affairs at GCC Universities and Higher Education Institutions on Monday.

The meeting saw the participation of representatives from 37 GCC universities.

The meeting covered a spectrum of topics, including the organization of cultural, scientific and sports events, joint student visits, scout camps, student gatherings abroad and exchanging students between GCC higher education institutions, among other topics.

Dr Said Hamad Al Rubai’ee, Vice Chancellor of UTAS, underscored the role of student affairs deanships in providing support for student activities and events. Those deanships also actively contribute to grooming the students’ scientific, cultural and social skills in a manner that improves the educational process, Al Rubai'ee added. -- ONA
