

Muscat: Sultanate of Oman on Friday, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will celebrate the Arab Tourism Day, which falls on February 25 of each year and coincides with the birth of the Arab traveler Ibn Battuta, under the slogan "Towards sustainable digital tourism".
In light of the challenges faced by the tourism industry worldwide as a result of the Corona pandemic, the efforts continue to find advanced and technological solutions that enable it to recover quickly to face challenges and competitions with global markets and to raise awareness about the importance of the tourism industry and its economic and social returns.
The total number of visitors to Oman during the year 2021 reached 652,000, and the Gulf visitors came in first place in terms of the number of visitors, reaching 293,125 visitors. The total revenues of hotels rated (3 - 5) stars amounted to about 102 million Omani riyals.
While the number of guests in those hotels reached one million and 200 thousand until the end of December of the year 2021, according to data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
