26th Muscat International Book Fair officially opens

His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, inaugurated the 26th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair 2022 (MIBF) on Thursday in the presence of Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, other dignitaries and representatives from public and private entities at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).


The Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah is the Guest of Honour at the book fair, which will remain open till March 5.


As a key attraction in the cultural events section, life in the governorate will be showcased through 29 art forms.


As many as 715 publishing houses with over 361,230 titles from 27 countries are taking part in the 10-day long fair, which will host nearly 114 cultural activities, besides 85 children’s activities aimed at inculcating the habit of reading in the young minds.
