Fujairah: A businessmen delegation, representing Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), took part in the 16th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, being held in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The delegation was led by Dr Salim Salayum al Junaibi, OCCI First Deputy Chairman, Head of the OCCI branch of the Governorate of Al Wusta.
During the sessions of the conference, the Sultanate of Oman presented specialized papers in the field of mineral wealth.
The conference focused on the new dimensions of mineral resource surveying, extraction and processing to achieve sustainable development.
It also discussed means of encouraging mining investment and promoting the available opportunities in the Arab countries, as well as enhancing the use of advanced technologies in mining sector.
As many as 300 participants from more than 35 countries took part in the conference.
