

MUSCAT: Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, on Tuesday approved the examination results of the General Education Diploma first semester for the academic year (2021-2022).
As per the details of the general indicators of the GED first semester examinations, 49,063 students sat for the exams (regular education) and the success rate was 80.24 per cent.
The number of students who sat for the exams at GED for private (bilingual) schools was 1,450 and the success rate was 90.47 per cent. The success rate for the Royal Guard of Oman Technical College was 100 per cent with 49 students sat for the examinations. A total of 187 students sat for the examinations at the General Education Diploma and Islamic Sciences and the success rate was 97.86 per cent. Thirteen students sat for examinations at the GED (special education) achieving a success rate of 90.91 per cent.
The ministry announced that the results will be available at 3:00 pm on Thursday through SMS via Omantel and Ooredoo or by sending a message containing the index number to 90200. The results will be available on the Sultanate of Oman Education Portal later on.
Dr Zuwaina bint Salih al Maskariyah, Director-General of Educational Assessment at the Ministry of Education, general supervisor of the GED examinations, said that requests for re-marking examination papers may be submitted on the Sultanate of Oman educational portal.
The applicants can fill in a form and then approach the Directorate- General of Education in the governorate to complete administrative procedures. The ministry will receive applications from February 27 to March 3. — ONA
