Oman take part in Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup

Oman under-16 boys and girls teams are taking part in the Davis Cup junior championships and Billie Jean King Cup respectively in Sri Lanka from February 19 to 27.


The Oman under-16 boys team includes Issa bin Ali al Sulaimani, Ali bin Essam al Busaidi and Taha bin Talal al Wahaibi. The under-16 girls squad includes Aisha bint Essam al Busaidi, Rayan bint Mazen al Busaidi and Majda bint Kamel al Amriya.


The delegation includes under-16 boys coach Sivan Doub, under-16 girls coach Sarah bint Abdul Majeed al Balushi and official Ahmed bin Ibrahim al Balushi.


The Davis Cup junior tournament features 13 teams. Oman are drawn in Group D with Singapore, Maldives and Nepal. The matches are held in four groups, and two teams from each group qualify to compete for the first rounds.


The Billie Jean King Cup championship has a participation of 12 teams. Oman are placed in Group C with Iraq and Uzbekistan.


The matches are played in clay courts.
