Muscat: The Economic and Financial Committee of Majlis Ash’shura hosted a delegation from the Arab Federation of Exchanges (AFE) and representatives of Arab capital markets.
The visit is aimed at strengthening cooperation and communication with Arab financial markets and exchanging experiences.
During a meeting chaired by Ahmed bin Said al Sharqi, head of the Economic and Financial Committee, the delegation was briefed on the specializations and working mechanisms of Majlis Ash’shura and roles played by the committee in studying the state's draft budget and the development plans.
The delegation comprised the chairman of the Iraqi Securities Commission, the chairman of the board of governors of the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) and the secretary-general of the Arab Federation of Exchanges (AFE).
The delegation viewed the council’s facilities and listened to a brief explanation about its components and modern technologies used for managing sessions and the advanced electronic voting mechanism.
