Rains to continue on Monday

Muscat: Heavy rains were experienced across many parts of the Muscat Governorate with Muscat International Airport recording 9.6 mm, Muscat 1.4 mm and Wadi Al Mawaal, South Al Batinah recorded 3.2 mm.


According to the weather forecaster at Oman Meteorology at Civil Aviation Authority, Ibrahim al Brashadi, more trains are expected on Monday in Musandam, the coastal area of the Arabian Sea, North and South Al Batinah, Dakhiliyah, Muscat and at night as well as tomorrow morning (Tuesday), isolated rains are expected in South al Sharqiya.


Active northwest winds in parts of the desert areas of Al Dhahira, Al Wusta and Dhofar May raise dust and affect the level of horizontal visibility.


Musandam Coast is expected to have wave height of 2 meters with relative humidity ranging between 20 to 75%, Oman Sea is expected to be moderate with a wave height of 2.5 meters and humidity ranging between 35 to 80% and the Arabian Sea is moderate with 2.0 meters with humidity ranging between 15 to 80%.


The weather forecast stated that partly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain are expected over Musandam Governorate and parts of the coastal areas of Oman Sea and adjoining mountains and mainly clear skies over the rest of the governorates with chances of dust rising winds over desert and open areas.


Over most of the sultanate of Oman winds will be northwesterly to northerly moderate to fresh.
