Sohar clinch victory against Oman club

Muscat: Sohar claimed three crucial points as they registered a 3-0 win over Oman club. At Sohar Sports Complex, the northern Batinah team players managed to reach 18th points in the 12th week of Omantel League.


With three successive wins against Nizwa, Muscat and Oman, they enhanced their position in the middle of table order and overcome Oman club by two points as the latter have 16 points.


The hosts struck the visitors with a goal in the 37th minute through Saud al Maqbali. Arhero Karter’s goal doubled the lead for Sohar in the first half by 2-0.


Nathaneel Movima netted the third goal before the interval ended by 15 minutes. Sohar will meet Al Rustaq in the forthcoming round on 15th February while Oman club will meet Al Ittihad.

SEEB, AL MUSANNAH DRAW


Seeb and Al Musannah’s clash ended in a goalless draw at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. The draw did not benefit both teams as they were seeking the victory to move forward in the table order.


With the draw result, Seeb added one point to their tally by 25 points while Al Musannah at 20 points. Both teams recorded triumphs in the previous round as Seeb managed to record significant win against Al Nasr while Al Musannah defeated Al Suwaiq. Seeb club’s board members announced the signing contract with new players including Mohammed al Musallami and Syrian Hameed Mido.


Seeb equipped the team with new players to cover the absence of Juma al Habsi/Harib al Saadi who went to Qatar’s Al Khor club while Salah al Yahyaei moved to Qatar’s club.


Seeb’s next assignment is to have a tight clash as they will meet Sur in the second leg of HM Cup on Thursday. The first leg match at Sur Sports Complex ended in a goalless draw.
