Muscat: Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Ba'owain, Minister of Labour, said that a joint committee is studying matters related to the revision of the minimum wage.

Speaking about the labor market conditions, he said that there is no link between working in the private sector and the opportunity to compete for jobs in the government sector.

"The ministry is currently working in cooperation with the Ministry of Education to identify some specializations that will cater to the needs of the job market."

The minister added that the number of male and female job seekers is almost the same as per the data available.
