MUSCAT: The Ministry of Finance held a workshop, via video-conferencing, focusing on the mechanism to be adopted by various government ministries and agencies for aligning their financial performance with the allocations of the State Budget.
The event, which saw the participation of representatives of government units, aims to clarify the mechanism used within the initiative of adjusting the financial performance of the State Budget. The mechanism targets ensuring that government units stick to the plan approved to achieve efficiency in executing the State Budget 2022, as well reaching the envisaged economic and social objectives.
The workshop compared the procedures and challenges faced during the past years and ways of enhancing and developing mechanisms of adjusting financial performance for the State Budget 2022.
The Ministry of Finance urged government units to submit a statement on a monthly basis to disburse financial liquidity for the approved budget. The ministry will also review the monthly financial performance of each unit and give comments. The ministry reaffirmed the importance of commitment and submitting monthly reports and comments to ensure achieving controls and fundamentals sought by the State Budget during 2022. — ONA
