Khasab: The Office of Minister of State and Governor of Musandam on Thursday signed an agreement with Triathlon Middle East to organise tourism sports activities and events in the Governorate of Musandam.
The pact aims to benefit from the topographical and geographical features of the governorate’s four wilayats.
The agreement was signed by Nassir Humaid al Hosni, Director-General of Musandam Municipality, and Mohammed al Obaidani, CEO of Triathlon Middle East company.
According to the agreement, Triathlon Middle East company will organize a variety of international sports activities, with emphasis on hiking sports, in cooperation with tourism establishments. The firms will help facilitate the residence of competitors during the events, which are expected to attract local and media, and showcase the governorate’s natural diversity.
The agreement seeks to attract Omani youth and inculcate the culture of sports at personal and social levels. It will provide suitable grounds for organizing the first international hiking sports championships of their kind in the Sultanate of Oman. --ONA
