Egyptian-Omani Business Council holds meeting

MUSCAT: The Omani-Egyptian Business Council held a meeting in the presence of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, and Samih Shukri, Egyptian Foreign Minister, at Al Bustan Palace hotel on Saturday.


The meeting discussed topics related to enhancing economic relations, boosting trade exchange and investment between the two countries in the private sector.


In his opening speech, Engineer Ridha bin Juma al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), said that the chambers of commerce seek to benefit from the opportunities available in both countries by exchanging trade and business delegations to closely identify the available opportunities and the facilities provided.


Trade exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and Egypt amounted to over $293 million at the end of 2021. In 2020, there were 744 Egyptian companies investing in Oman with a total invested capital exceeding $1.856 billion. — ONA
