MUSCAT: Oman Women whitewashed the touring UK side Wanstead Cricket Club, winning the third T20 game by 38 runs to clinch the series 3-0 here at Oman Cricket Turf 1 in Amerat on Friday.

Opting to bowl first, Wanstead CC failed to restrict Oman to a small total. Priyanka Mendonca (30), Hina Javed (23) and Nayan Anil (20) were the hosts’ main batters, Hina hitting the game’s lone six. Laura Anna claimed 2 for 14.

Determined to make amends and end the tour on a winning note, Wanstead got off to a sound start, reaching 51 for 1 in 9 overs. However, Oman fought back again, slowing the tourists down further before it became impossible to catch up with the required run rate. Though Wanstead crossed the 100-run mark for the first time in the series, it could still manage to score only 122 for 4 in 20 overs, a good 38 runs short of the target. Yasmin Daswani (38 not out) and Saba Nasim (25) were again its topscorers.

Brief Scores: Oman Women's 160 for 6 in 20 overs (Priyanka Mendonca 30 – 3x4, Hina Javed 23 – 1x6, Nayan Anil 20 – 3x4. Laura Anna 2-14) beat Wanstead Women's 122 for 4 in 20 overs (Yasmin Daswani 38 – 3x4, Saba Nasim 25 – 3x4) by 38 runs.
