MUSCAT: Al Asema camel won the golden sword in the female old age category at the sixth King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
Al Asema is from Hijn Al Bashayer, owned by HH Sayyid Assad bin Tariq al Said.
'Al Asema' had a tight competition with other camels participating in the last stage of the festival, which is considered as the most important stage. Al Asema covered the 8km-long race in 12 minutes, 43.39 seconds.
Mosa bin Ali al Gahafi, coach of Al Asema, said he had prepared hard for this race.
Al Gahafi expressed happiness on his major achievement.
