Muscat: There will be a decrease in temperatures in the Sultanate this weekend, which will be accompanied by strong, active, and sometimes cold northwesterly winds, leading to a rough state of the sea along the coasts of the Sea of Oman.

The latest analysis of numerical weather charts and satellite images shows the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by fresh northwesterly winds starting from Thursday evening and will continue for next coming days.

A northwesterly fresh wind is expected to blow over the sultanate and may cause the following weather events:

Moderate to rough sea over the coastal areas of Oman Sea and West Musandam coastal areas with maximum wave height may range from 2 - 4

meters.

Low and poor Horizontal visibility due to the dust rising wind especially in open areas and deserts.

Drop between (5 to 8°C) in the normal air temperatures.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has advised all to take precautions, especially fishermen and drivers due to the expected rough sea state and poor visibility.
