NIZWA: Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, met with the walis of wilayats and officials of government agencies in the governorate to discuss ways to implement His Majesty the Sultan's directives issued during his last meeting with the shaikhs of the governorate.

The governor, in his speech, referred to the 11th of January Anniversary and the Renewed Renaissance, highlighting the important announcements made by His Majesty through his speeches and directives. He pointed out the expanding role of governorates in the development and service sectors with a view to improving their performance.

The meeting discussed several matters regarding His Majesty's directives to simplify procedures and cooperation between government agencies to complete works in an integrated manner that increases efficiency. It also dealt with providing services that live up to the aspirations of citizens and help speed up and simplify procedures.

Working teams were formed to study the actual situation and challenges, asking them to submit proposals to simplify the procedures of government agencies for the benefit of beneficiaries. The teams have to submit their reports in three months.

The meeting discussed the need to develop a unified mechanism for sending circulars and correspondences between government institutions to ensure their delivery on time. It also considered the issue of having a communication plan between the governor’s office and the rest of the institutions in the governorate to provide the office with information on important plans and projects being implemented.

The companies entrusted with the implementation of the development projects have to expedite their work and hence delay in issuing necessary permits and approvals for their works should be avoided. This is also necessary to ensure an unhindered project implementation in accordance with the plan set by the governorate.

During the meeting, officials of government institutions gave proposals to improve their functioning and to ease work in the various service sectors of the governorate.
