MUSCAT: In response to human duty and to enhance the commitment of its employees towards the importance of blood donation, AlShawamikh Oil Services Company organized on Monday a blood donation campaign at its headquarters in Muscat, with the participation of several other companies, in cooperation with the Blood Bank at the Ministry of Health.
Dr Aflah bin Saeed al Hadrami, CEO of AlShawamikh Oil Services Company, praised the company’s employees and other companies for taking the initiative to donate blood. He said that this indicates the extent of human sacrifices for the sake of others. “ This value remains one of the most important values that reflect the depth of humanity in donating the most precious thing we have” he explained.
He pointed out that this campaign highlights the need to commit to donating blood throughout the year to preserve adequate supplies of blood at Blood Bank and achieve self-sufficiency in the various blood banks in the Sultanate of Oman. He stated that a single drop of blood may be a new opportunity to save a person's life, especially since some groups in our society do not find a match in some circumstances. “So, one donation process may be a reason to keep a person alive”, according to Al Hadrami, who expressed his hope that this campaign will be the company's first for other similar campaigns to come continuously.
“This human gesture, in providing blood units necessary to support patients in various health institutions, is important. The turnout was high and this reflects the sincere belief of the employees- the donors- in the importance of this noble work. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who donated their blood, wishing them to continue taking the initiative to save the lives of their peers. Blood donation has a positive impact on the health of the donor, renewal of his vitality and activity, not to mention its supreme goal”.
It is noteworthy that AlShawamikh Oil Services Company is a partner of blood banks in the Sultanate of Oman, based on its belief in the great role of donors who do the sacrifice to save patients in need of blood whether from citizens or residents.
