Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will continue to experience a drop in temperature for a few more days, according to Oman Meteorology.

There have been reports of the formation of frost on mountain heights and some weather stations in the desert areas recorded less than ten degrees Celsius on Friday.

The temperature in Jabal al Sarat in the Wilayat of Ibri reached below zero, which resulted in the freezing of water in ponds and the frost formation.

Jabal al Sarat is 130 kilometers from the city of Ibri and can be reached through Wadi Al-Ain.

The Al Sarat Mountain is 2,850 meters above sea level.

On Saturday, day temperatures in Muscat were 23°C, while the forecast for Sunday said Jabel Shams will be minimum temperatures of 9°C, Saiq 11°C.

“The first cold wave of this season will continue for a few days more, and people should enjoy the moment. As per studies and statistics, there has been an increase in temperatures in general on average,” an official at Oman Met said.
